PALFINGER MARINE has been chosen to deliver a major deck equipment package for Nexans high-end cable laying vessel, Aurora.

This advanced cable laying vessel is developed for operations in rough weather and has high maneuverability and station keeping capabilities.

“Being awarded with this order confirms our good reputation in the high-end vessel market. We are very proud for being chosen by Ulstein Verft for delivering our high-quality equipment”, says Sverre Mowinckel-Nilsen, Sales Director Offshore Lifting and Handling Solutions.

PALFINGER has already reported to deliver Abandon and Recovery (A&R) winches, A-Frame, knuckle boom cranes and overhead travelling gantry cranes to the Aurora. The new delivery agreement consist of two LBT 935  lifeboats with the belonging davits. The lifeboats are arranged to accommodate 64 persons each, with a person weight of 98kg and seat width of 530mm. This makes the vessel prepared for the different regulations and worldwide operation. In addition, PALFINGER supplies one life raft davit on each side of the vessel. This is design to handle up to 25 persons life rafts.

“Having a single supplier of complete packages with cranes, winches and  lifesaving appliances saves customers time and money, and reduces complexity in their procurement processes,” says Bjørn Erik Eliassen, Regional Sales Director.

Delivery of the equipment will be during the spring of 2020.
