The delivery and installation of the cranes took place end of January. The DKW 2500 were shipped from our production site in Gdynia to Aibel yard in Haugesund, where the drilling platform is built. The two cranes for the drilling platform were installed with the help of a floating crane and a seven-man crew from PALFINGER MARINE, who secured and bolted them onto pedestals. Conditions were restricted, requiring a maximum swell of half a metre and maximum winds of six metres per second. After all, with the crane reaching 90 metres above the water’s surface, seemingly small wind and wave movements can make a massive difference when it’s in operation.

Thankfully, the team were able to complete a successful delivery and installation in one week.
